Jigsaw Puzzles: Wrong Rotation or Wrong Position?

When a piece will not fit, check whether the game allows rotation before trying it in every empty space. Some digital puzzles keep every piece upright; others make orientation part of the challenge.

Use shape and picture together

A blue piece may belong to the sky, water or a painted object. Color alone is weak evidence. Compare edge shape and the direction of visible lines: a horizon should continue through the neighboring piece. If rotation is supported, turn the piece deliberately and inspect each orientation instead of repeatedly dropping it into the same slot.

Try the steps

  1. Read the rotation control or confirm that pieces stay upright.
  2. Choose a location using two clues, such as edge shape and picture detail.
  3. Test the placement and confirm the game's acceptance feedback.

Does a piece near the right spot always snap into place?

No. Snap distance and locking behavior vary. A piece merely overlapping the board is not necessarily accepted. Look for the version's visual or movement feedback before treating that section as solved.
