Identify which grid squares can only be reached by a plus piece placed in a specific spot, and fill those mandatory positions first. After locking in the forced placements, work on the interior. Plus pieces tile together in predictable patterns — learning the two main interlocking arrangements helps you quickly fill large rectangular sections. When the grid has irregular edges or notches cut out, those irregularities create additional constraints. A notch that removes exactly one square from what would otherwise be a clean edge means the adjacent plus piece must be shifted inward, cascading repositioning across the board. Pay attention to parity — count the grid squares and verify the total is divisible by five, confirming exact coverage is possible. If the count does not divide evenly, look for special single-square filler pieces included in the level. The undo button lets you remove pieces and try alternative arrangements. In the hardest levels, multiple plus sizes are introduced — standard five-square crosses alongside smaller three-square T-shapes or larger nine-square extended crosses — each requiring different spatial reasoning to integrate.
