Before pouring, count the consecutive top layers of one color and the free space in the receiving tube. Matching colors alone do not guarantee the move clears your source tube.
Two layers may need two spaces
Suppose a four-slot tube contains two blue layers above red, and another has blue on top but only one free slot. In a version allowing partial pours, only one blue layer may move. A version requiring the whole run may reject the pour. Watch the actual transfer and read the rules before building a plan around it.
Try the steps
- Count the source's consecutive top-color layers.
- Count empty slots in the destination and check its top color.
- Predict what becomes exposed after the transfer, then verify it.
Should an empty tube be filled immediately?
No. It can serve as temporary space for a different color later. Prefer pours that reveal useful layers or consolidate a color without consuming your last workable buffer.
