Draw one exposes one stock card at a time; draw three exposes a packet whose top card is playable. Both use the same basic Klondike building rules.
The stock changes access, not the goal
Build foundations upward from Ace to King by suit, while tableau runs descend in alternating colors. In draw three, if a packet is exposed as 4♣, 9♦, Q♠ with Q♠ on top, you cannot take 9♦ until the Queen is removed legally. Drawing one makes each stock card easier to inspect. Draw-three access also depends on the version's redeal rules; check whether passes are limited.
Try the steps
- Choose draw one to learn tableau moves, if your game offers that mode.
- Before drawing again, check whether a legal move can expose a face-down tableau card.
- In draw three, track useful cards underneath the top waste card and review the permitted number of stock passes.
Can every deal be won in draw one?
No. Easier access does not make every shuffled deal solvable. Avoid treating a lost deal as proof that you missed a move. Undo, hints and mode selection vary by implementation; check Solitaire Klondike's own menu rather than assuming all versions provide them.
