Opening a familiar game on another domain can show a fresh save even when you use the same browser. Local browser storage belongs to a web origin, not to a game's display name.
Compare the origin, not just the logo
An origin includes the scheme, host and port. MDN notes that HTTP and HTTPS versions of a site have separate localStorage. Different subdomains are also different origins. An embedded game may save under its own origin, and browser privacy rules can further affect access. A language path change alone does not change the origin, but the game can still choose separate save keys.
Try the steps
- Compare the current public address with the place where you last played.
- Return to the original browser profile and game address before deleting any data.
- Check for an official account sync or export feature if you need to move progress.
Can I copy the page URL to transfer a save?
Usually not. A link identifies a page, not its local storage. Transfer requires a feature the game actually provides; using the same title on another website does not guarantee compatible saves.
