Arrow keys can scroll a page when the embedded game does not have keyboard focus. Click inside the running game and check its control instructions.
Distinguish focus from unsupported controls
A browser sends keyboard input to the focused element. Clicking the page's Play button may launch the player without focusing the game inside it. A search box can also keep focus after typing. However, not every puzzle accepts arrow keys: a mouse-only game will not gain keyboard controls just because it is focused.
Try the steps
- Close the search dialog and read the game's on-screen instructions.
- Click a safe, non-action area inside the running player, then test one documented key.
- If the page still scrolls, try the game's documented mouse or touch controls and compare another keyboard-capable game.
Will connecting a keyboard fix every mobile game?
No. The game must implement keyboard input, and the browser must deliver it to the player. In 2048-style games, check which gestures or keys this version supports. If focus is correct but input fails, report the browser, device and exact key instead of repeatedly reloading and risking progress.
